I took the bus this morning and on my way to the hospital, I saw the news from a television. A seven-year-old boy, who lives in Texas in the U.S., lost his legs when he was just 15 months old. Now he does exercises all day with artificial limbs. He is a strong child. The people said that he possibly is next Philps or another flier. At the time, I felt very upset and I wished that I was really an Angel. Then I could restore him with new legs and let all kids be healthy. I'd love to be a world angel.
Nine days ago my patient, Hailey, got pneumonia. The phlegm had been especially much and she was too weak to expectorate. We had to just let her lie down on her side. Her seizures were much more than before and her sleep was not good at that time. The saliva was also much more than before and every morning she would have wet clothes and a wet pillow. She threw up sometimes. After these day-long treatments, her cough is getting more and more powerful, the phlegm came out, her pneumonia changed for the better gradually, the blood test was normal, I changed the vein antibiotic into the oral, her sleep has been good (in last three days she slept continuously till dawn) and she did not vomit again. Seizures are also getting better and better.
Today the auscultation of her respiratory murmur is good and her lungs are very clean. She does not have excessive saliva and is well rested. I was happy to announce to her mother, "the pneumonia is gone."Miranda and I are very happy and Hailey's progress is encouraging to me. What joy has compared to this? This afternoon, Hailey finally returned to do her exercises in the rehabilitation center (not in her room when she had the infection). Look, how good she does! She is breathing so well.
