Summer, his rebirth 12/11/2010

Nurse Lilly 2010-11-12

There is a kind of strength that gives us the passion and desire to move on. Not only through misery and misfortune, but also through laughter, repent, and tears. In this world of love, "dedication" is a very important word.

David is an unfortunate child of ten years of age. Since the day he was born, he was destined to a lifetime of struggle. He has cerebral palsy. Both his parents are Americans, and this is their only baby. They left no stone unturned when looking for places for proper treatment. Finally they settled upon coming to China.

Even during the hot summer months, we couldn't turn on the air conditioning because his ability to swallow was very weak. It took him almost an hour to eat a meal. We had to do our best to protect him from developing a cough and give him immediate 24-hour medical attention. Everyone recognized this little boys struggle, and did their best to care for him. Even though sometimes the work was very stressful and difficult, the result was very happy. The parents were very pleased with his progress.

When he was released from the hospital, everyone was very happy. All the medical staff was glad to see him leave our hospital in better condition than before. We hope other children can find the same hope after coming to China.
