Today, I was deeply moved by a little boy who is the younger brother of one of our patients named Nawaf.
Nawaf is from Saudi Arabia and has cerebral palsy. Last Friday, his mother and younger brother came to see him. Today, he got a fever and could not do his exercises in the physical therapy room. I came to his room to see if he felt any better. When I came in, Nawaf was lying on the bed and his brother was standing beside the bed. I told Nawaf to drink enough water because his lips were very dry. Hearing this, his brother went to get a glass of water and wanted to help him drink it. But Nawaf shook his head and did not want to drink any of the water. At that time, his brother held his chin and poured the water into his mouth, but the water spilled on Nawaf's shirt. His brother tried again carefully. Then Nawaf coughed, and his brother patted him on the back patiently. I was standing there and was moved by how Nawaf's brother was caring for him.
Nawaf is fifteen and his brother is just thirteen. But the brothers are so friendly to each other. I learned a lot of things from them, about the strong relationship they have.
My best wishes go out to them!
