Last Saturday, my patient Georgiana Li left our hospital to return to the USA. She has had MSA (multiple system atrophy) for the past four years. She came here the second time for further treatment for her disease. Her whole body was so stiff that she could not even move her hands. She is continuing to improve. I am very happy to see Georgiana's great improvements. I want to let others know about her progress.
She has a very good attitude towards life. Even though she suffers from this disease, she has a great sense of humor. After a month of exercising her back, she could sit up without help, make a bow and even lift her legs. One day, she saw the middle-aged man from Japan, who has melancholia, doing therapy in the PT room. She had an idea. She told me that she wanted to practice bowing, to give greetings to him. I was surprised then, but I still called the man to come and sit in front of Georgiana. She was sitting on the bed with her legs on the floor by herself. She and the man sat face to face. She bowed to him first and said hello to him in Japanese. She bowed to him three times as the rest of us applauded her. We all were happy to see that and were moved by it.
I hope she can continue to see more improvements in the future.
Best wishes to her and her family!
