Today I worked on the third floor. Every day is a new start, so I must do my work with a warm heart and passion. I told my patient, Alrubaish, that I needed to give him an injection. I asked him and then he said "Oh, 10 minutes from now, I want to do a religious service." I left his room and after 10 minutes returned. Now can I give you the injection? "Maybe I need to go to the toilet," he said in a soft voice. I asked him, are you really sure you need to go to the toilet? I knew he didn't want to go to the toilet and that he was nervous about getting the injection. I told Alrubaish that the injection would only take one minute, and that it would be all over before he knew it."Ok, I know," he said to me. After the injection I told him that next he will have an IV. "Oh no, I don't want the IV," he said in a sad voice with tears in his eyes. I asked him, "You are a brave boy, right?" "If you don't have the IV how can you feel better?" In about two minutes he said nothing but he showed me his arm. I told him how brave he is and that he will be healthy again soon. I felt very happy that he got over his fear of the IV. Every child is an angel and his bravery and trust in me was very rewarding.
