Catherine's mother had pregnancy-induced hypertension when she was pregnant at 6 months and the blood pressure control was poor. Catherine was born at 32 weeks and weighed 1.2kgs at birth. The Apgar-score was 7 at birth. She received a tracheotomy operation and was put on assisted ventilation for 12 days in the local hospital. The doctors also put her on antibiotics. Catherine was discharged from the hospital after 21 days of treatment. She had a developmental delay in her cognitive abilities, speech and physical growth. She could walk independently when she was 2 years and 3 months old. When she was 3 years old, her doctor found problems with Catherine's hearing. Her learning ability was poor and at present, can understand what others say to her, but her responses are slow. She can only say single words and cannot read or write. She can express herself through her emotional responses. She received acupuncture and physical rehabilitation therapy in the local hospital. But the effect was not good. So they decided to Wu Stem Cells Medical Center for treatment.

During the admissions examination, the circumference of Catherine's head was found to be smaller than normal. The thorax was symmetrical. The respiratory sounds in both lungs were clear with no signs of dry or moist rales. The cardiac rhythm was regular, with no murmur. The abdomen was soft, the liver and spleen were not palpable under the ribs.

During the nervous system examination, Catherine was alert. She would get emotional if her parents weren't around. She would wave her arms and try to hold on to her parents if they left and she was not easily appeased. She could only speak a few words and could not speak in complete sentences. She could only communicate with others in a simple way. She had poor comprehension ability and lagged in her responses. She could only follow simple instructions. Her attention span was short. There was nightly bed-wetting, but the urination routine during the daytime was normal. Both pupils had normal responses to light stimuli. Both eyeballs could move freely. The chewing and swallowing ability was normal. The muscle tone of the neck was normal. The neck and all four limbs could move freely. Catherine could sit, stand, and walk by herself. She couldn't cooperate with the examination of the muscle strength and muscle tone. Both hands could grasp, but the fingers lacked flexibility. The abdominal reflexes were normal. The bilateral radial periosteal reflex, biceps reflex and triceps reflex were normal. The bilateral patellar tendon reflex was normal. The sucking reflex was negative, the bilateral palm jaw reflex was positive. The bilateral Hoffmann's sign was negative. The bilateral Babinski's sign was positive. Catherine couldn't cooperate with the sensory examination or coordinated movement examination. There were no signs of meningeal irritation.

Catherine was in good spirits and her mood was under control. She had difficulty with falling asleep but when she did, the amount of sleep was normal. Her appetite is good and her weight has increased.

After the admission, Catherine was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and fatty liver (mild). She received treatment to improve the blood circulation in order to increase the blood supply to the damaged nerves and to nourish the neurons. Then we gave her nerve cell activation treatment. We also had her immunity strengthened. This was combined with physical rehabilitation training.

After the completion of the treatment, Catherine was able to say hello to others actively. She has better emotional control and is easier to placate when she gets overly emotional. She can answer simple questions with either a "yes" or "no," and the accuracy rate has increased from before. At present, the accuracy rate is about 60%. The accuracy rate is high at the beginning and decreases gradually. The number of bed-wetting times in the night has decreased. During the physical examinations, Catherine's attention span had increased. The comprehension ability has also increased and the response time is faster than before. The learning ability has increased. She can trace letters in a notebook accurately. She can finish most instructions and enjoys getting attention and being praised.
