Glenn-Parkinson disease(USA)

NAME: Glenn

SEX: Male

COUNTRY: USA

AGE: 60

DIAGNOSIS: Parkinson's Disease (Stage III)

Before Treatment:

Glenn was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 3 years ago. About 3 years ago, he developed static tremors in his right upper limb, causing slow movement. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at a local hospital. Initially, the anti-Parkinson's medication had good results, but 2 years ago, the symptoms became gradually worse. He had tremors in his left upper limb, his movements were slower than before and that greatly affected his daily life activities. His speech was slurred and he had difficulty standing up, getting out of bed and walking. His doctors adjusted the medication many times but it had little positive effect.

He had difficulty initiating his movements because of his rigidity and doing simple acts like getting out of a chair was difficult, without some assistance. His handwriting was illegible. He would have occasional freeze-ups and lose his balance and fall.

Treatment:

Glenn received 4 neural stem cell injections through the subarachnoid cavity by lumbar

puncture (2007-11-06; 2007-11-15 )

After Treatment:

After the treatment, Glenn now walks more easily and relaxed. His gait is more stable than before. He has no difficulty going up and down stairs. He can bend at the knees; get out of bed by himself and his balance has improved. He has better use of his hands and can do his daily activities like normal, such as dressing himself, eating and using a knife to cut his food. His handwriting is much better and he can control the mouse when using his computer. His speech is clearer than before and no longer has difficulty swallowing. He no longer freezes up or falls when walking and the rigidity has been alleviated and his tremors have decreased noticeably.
